◣ PLOT ENGAGEMENT ◢
PLOT ENGAGEMENT ❀
The Ethyraia mod team strongly encourages players to engage with the world setting in a way that maximizes the enjoyment players get out of being part of this community!
For clarity's sake, we currently have three tiers of plot:
TIER I:
Tier I plots do not require moderator approval or oversight. These plots rely on information already clearly delivered in info pages and are localized to 1-4 PCs and/or affect no more than 5 NPCs.
An example of this might be:
TIER II:
Tier II plots do not require moderator approval but do require mod oversight. This would be a plot that involves or impacts 5-10 characters and/or 5-20 NPCs, or any power mishaps that result from attempting to affect the setting.
Players must reach out on this post to talk about the plot — the mods may provide feedback, thoughts, or suggestions to how to pull it off within the setting. This can also ensure that a player plot doesn't accidentally conflict with any planned world events. In the case of power mishaps, players need only inform moderators — the goal here is to make sure the whole game is aware if flowers are suddenly blooming in the cafeteria. However, the mods make take advantage of it to create an additional effect for players to engage.
Please use your best judgement here — players are encouraged to participate in the world and develop their own ideas. Though the mods would rather not say 'no' to players, if plots have elements that are inappropriate to the game at large or that may affect PCs without a player's consent, players may be required to restructure it per mod-provided support and guidelines. Tier II plots will also require an OOC plotting post that allows the playerbase to sign up for important roles. If the interest in a Tier II plot outstrips the parameters of this section, the mods may work with players to bump it up to a Tier III plot.
An example of this might be:
TIER III:
Tier III plots will require both mod oversight and approval. These plots will potentially be large-scale events that may impact the setting of the game in ways that will carry forward, and they may last longer than a few days. They may involve 10+ PCs, and any number of affected NPCs.
Any use of character powers to successfully affect the setting constitutes a Tier III plot and must be approved here. Characters who affect the setting will be permanently and entirely depowered, and the changes that they make to the setting are not guaranteed to last beyond a length of time discussed during the planning of the event here.
An example of this might be:
Tier 3 plots also include any plot requests, such as exploration of a new area or adjustment to the setting. Players may submit a request using the form below, and the mods will collaborate in the effort to craft something for players to engage with. Players should limit tier 3 plot requests to ONCE EVERY THREE MONTHS for the sake of fairness and to ensure that others get a turn. Players should also endeavor to involve as many of their fellow players as possible in their plot requests. Depending on player interest, the timing and nature of plot requests and their restrictions may evolve as the game develops.

Susan Pevensie and her two brothers are searching for herbs she can use to make a healing salve from in one of the forests surrounding the dragon. They are attacked by creatures from our BESTIARY and Susan is injured. An NPC rescue team of three people help them back to the dragon after hearing their distress beacon.

Scarecrow has been experimenting with the local flora to produce a fear gas native to this planet! He succeeds, and gasses the medical bay, where 7 PCs (who have OOCly signed up!) and 14 NPCs are recovering after an animal attack. Several NPCs are killed, many others are hurt.Players that feel their plot is a Tier II plot are encouraged to use the form at the bottom of this post. Replies are screened.

Clark Kent wants to bring Christmas to Ethyraia! From December 14th to the 24th, he is going to be working with 12 of his closest friends to decorate the interior of the leviathan, spread stories to the children, offer sleigh rides and pictures with a very disgruntled Nathan Summers who is posing as Santa Claus! Even the Thessyx get involved, curiously coming over to examine these strange human customs! On Christmas Eve, all the speedsters in the game will be delivering hand-made gifts to all the children of the Adamant, and that distant silhouette of a sleigh you see against the moon? It's probably Batman, but it's best not to ask.Players that feel their plot is a Tier III plot are encouraged to use the form at the bottom of this post. Replies are screened.
As a result of this plot, the local Thessyx population learn about Christmas! They become fascinated by human culture, and become slightly more open to both the crew of the Adamant and the so-called 'Children of the Leviathan'.
