RULES ❀
Ethyraia does not operate on a strike system. Players will be warned for minor infractions, but behavior that in other games might warrant a strike will more likely result in a ban in Ethyraia should the situation be grievous enough. This is due to the fact that many problem players view strikes as an allowance of prohibited behavior — so long as they are only doing it twice. In the interest of protecting our player-base, we can and will reserve the right to remove players at mod discretion.
Please do not think that implies we will do so unfairly — the mods believe that we have all spent sufficient time in this hobby, by and large we all know what acceptable behavior is and isn't. Please consider the rules below for further clarifications.
01. Be considerate and respectful of those you share a game space with.
02. No Infomodding, Metagaming or Godmoding.
03. Stay IC.
04. Please ensure that IC remains IC and OOC remains OOC.
We will not tolerate any instances of harassment or bullying. This game is meant to be a fun and safe space for all — if you take actions that jeopardize those things at the expense of another, we will be speaking to you directly if we become aware of this matter.
If you feel a player has broken the above rules, please come to the moderators with your proofs promptly. If no proof is given, or if no complaint is made directly to the mods, no action can be taken.
Similarly, we ask that you respect the mods and the decisions we make for the game. We do not expect you to always agree with us, but please be courteous with any disagreements you raise.
To be transparent, we have a zero tolerance policy for OOC instances of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, bullying or harassment of any sort. Anyone found to be engaging with the above will be removed from the game without room for appeal.
Please be aware that disagreements or criticism are not harassment in and of themselves and do not count unless the language and approach taken begins to skirt that line. (Telling someone their characterizations sucks and they should leave RP forever is harassment. Detailing instances in canon where a character acted contrary to their portrayal is not.)

02. No Infomodding, Metagaming or Godmoding.
We all play a variety of characters from a wide variety of worlds. Your character may be the best at what they do in their universe, but please understand the same may not be true in a panfandom setting. A natural leader in their canon will not necessarily have the tools or knowledge to lead in Ethyraia no matter how you think it may 'ruin' their character not to be afforded the privilege and consideration of their canon.
If you are playing a perceptive character (such as Sherlock Holmes, Bruce Wayne, etc), please allow other players/characters an opportunity to opt in to these perceptions rather than having to opt out of them. An example of this is — it will often ruin someone's experience to have their villainous character outed as villainous immediately because someone had a 'feeling'.

03. Stay IC.
Growth is an expected part of the RP experience. It's why we're all here! But we do expect such developments to be reasonable and follow a character's established patterns of behavior. Please understand that it can be difficult for castmates to reconcile a wildly different version of a character than what they're accustomed to.
04. Please ensure that IC remains IC and OOC remains OOC.
A character disagreeing with yours does not mean the player does. Likewise, a player who is writing an IC ship with you is not dating you IRL! If you seem to struggle with maintaining these boundaries, this may not be an ideal game for you.
Before you take an IC action, please also consider its impact on other characters ICly and other players OOCly. Games are the most fun for everyone if you strive to find a balance between what works for you as well as others!
